Gray WolfThe gray wolf is a type of wolf that lives in cold areas such as the taiga and tundra. They can be black, gray, or white. The gray wolf maintains the population of the environment. These wolves are tertiary consumers meaning they are at the top of the food chain. They eat primary and secondary consumers such as Bald Eagles, Bighorn Sheep, Beavers, Elk, and Bison. The Gray Wolves were restored in the park to preserve the population.

BisonYellowstone has the largest population of bison. They're mostly seen in the Northern Range and Hayden Valley of the park. Throughout the year the bison move around the park but tend to stay around Hayden and Lamar Valleys. Bison can live up to 15 years. They are secondary consumers. They eat grasses and sedges such as Wheatgrass and Gray Willow.
